Biography

Raffaele Di Gennaro is an Italian professional football player. He was born on November 21, 1995, in Rome, Italy. Di Gennaro primarily plays as a midfielder and is known for his technical skills, vision, and ability to control the game from the center of the pitch. Di Gennaro began his youth career at Lazio, one of the top football clubs in Italy. He quickly progressed through the ranks and made his professional debut for Lazio's senior team in December 2013. However, due to tough competition in the squad, he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter and was loaned out to several lower-tier clubs to gain more playing time and experience. During his loan spells, Di Gennaro played for clubs like Sorrento, Avellino, and Ascoli, showcasing his talent and earning valuable game time. After his loan spells ended, he returned to Lazio and eventually secured a spot in the first team. He went on to become an important player for Lazio, contributing with goals and assists in midfield. In August 2021, Di Gennaro transferred to Bologna, another top-flight Italian club, in search of new challenges. He continues to ply his trade at Bologna, representing the club in domestic competitions. Internationally, Di Gennaro has represented Italy at various youth levels, featuring for the U21 national team. However, he is yet to make his senior debut for the Italian national team.
